SEO Fundamentals That Need to be Mastered (Part 1)

While SEO and Google’s algorithms are constantly changing, it is crucial to not lose sight of the basics and fundamentals in order to try and change to every new algo change you hear and read about. Though it is important to keep up with the updates, without a firm grasp on the core and base of your seo strategies, and focusing only on the new changes, it’s almost like using an umbrella during a hurricane.

In this 2-part series, we’ll look at the first set of fundamentals for SEO today…

* Diversify: Though, it’s extremely important to keep a pulse on the changes of SEO and grounding your marketing in this area, having a balance of social media marketing, email marketing, building customer relationships and other traditional marketing methods should play a part in your overall strategy.

* Sound Structure Leads to More Inbound Links: It is so important to “dot your i’s and cross your t’s” on your website to maximize your SEO potential. Having a sound website structure will not only lead to deeper links but also improves your chances of being linked to, retweeted, or mentioned online. Placing deeper links in the right places with the right keywords in the anchor text will give your site the best opportunity to maximize your SEO results.

* Accessible, Quality Content: According to Rand Fishkin of SeoMoz, this is the base of his fundamental SEO pyramid. What this includes is unique text content, URL structure, sitemap, internal link architecture, bot accessibility, and server response codes.

It is so important to keep a solid foundation on your site to get the most from your site for SEO purposes. Look for our second part of this blog soon.
