Last month, Matt Cutts made an announcement, at SES San Francisco, that the next Penguin update would be ”jarring and jolting…and you don’t want the next Penguin update.” Of course he did not say when this would take place or many details about the new changes. The last Penguin refresh came this past May.
With this in mind, seo agencies and analysts have been thinking and strategizing of what these may be… and prepare for the next action step and changes, if necessary to what agencies are already doing. Fresh content is something that will not change and will be a mainstay from here on out.
Rumors have been spreading in the last 48 hours as to the Penguin Update has already started or just around the corner because of the buzz in online groups and message boards, along with the lack of response from the Google webmaster team to questions that are being asked of them. Until we hear, for sure, we can only speculate on what is happening behind Google and Matt Cutts’ door.
Matt Cutts also has shared this, “..we’re still in the early stages of Penguin where the engineers are incorporating new signals and iterating to improve the algorithm. Because of that, expect that the next few Penguin updates will take longer, incorporate additional signals, and as a result will have more noticeable impact. It’s not the case that people should just expect data refreshes for Penguin quite yet.”
With this in mind, while some are thinking the time is close, it may take awhile until Google is ready to make these changes so they can be accurate and the best for their purposes to make the search engine run more smoothly.
Finding the right SEO agency, who is currently up-to-date on Google algorithm changes, is so crucial. It’s important for one to give you the peace of mind in getting the Google results that you need.
