…you partner with the right company. Ok, so there is much more to this and this post will actually share why Google is making it harder.
Google Panda and Penguin updates have been a big factor in recent months but now Google continues to change their rules to make your search results “more relevant” and helping find the answers you’re looking for without possibly having to go through the regular search that we have been accustomed to for years.
What this does now is for us to all take a step back and study what types of pages and social sites that Google is also adding more to the first page of organic search results. Knowing this can help companies, of all sizes, compete even for certain key terms… by providing the answers and results that Google is favoring.
Google has and will continue to test what they believe will give the user the best results. One of these ways is using Google’s own type of pages and brands to fit in the results.
Makes sense to them! Why would Google want to have you leave their site or pages to go to someone else’s?
Google made this statement recently, “We’re continuing to work out the best ways to show multiple results from a single site when it’s clear users are interested in that site. Separately, we’re also experimenting with varying the number of results per page, as we do periodically. Overall our goal is to provide the most relevant results for a given query as quickly as possible, whether it’s a wide variety of sources or navigation deep into a particular source. There’s always room for improvement, so we’re going to keep working on getting the mix right.”
Google also is now giving just 7 organic regular search results per page… and even giving more space to other types of sites. At this time, the display sitelinks for sites that are shown are ‘automated’ but the search giant is probably looking for ways to make these more accurate based on the user.
It’s time to be extra creative now in looking what Google is giving extra ‘love’ for your key search terms and what is showing up on the results pages. This could mean optimizing for image search, Google Places, YouTube, Google News, or of course paying for Google AdWords. Something to study up on!
Finding the right SEO agency is so crucial to both a company’s time and money. So important for one to give you the peace of mind in getting the Google results that you need.
