Buying Fans and Followers Produces Negative Results

Social marketing online is becoming one of the most popular ways to gain business today. Facebook and Twitter are the main networks that companies are joining to branch out work. The main reason why the internet is so common for marketing now is the amount of active users online. Since there is such a large amount of people who are socially active today it would seem like accumulating fans and followers would be easy.

That is not the case for most companies and small businesses. It is actually difficult for certain people to gain a significant amount of fans or followers and in the world of social media, this is pretty important. When companies begin to realize that what they are doing online isn’t working, they tend to think that buying fans and followers is the only option. This is one of the worst mistakes that companies make when working online.

Your company will not prosper by purchasing likes, fans or followers. The amount of fans you have does matter to an extent, but you only want to attract fans that are truly interested in the content you post and the products you are offering. You can have hundreds of thousands of fans, but they are no good if they aren’t engaging with your brand. Fake fans and followers will not respond to your posts and won’t ever share your content. These purchased fans are not real people.

You want to see ranking and positive feedback when you are branding online. If you decide that buying fans is the best way to go, prepare to see your rankings drop. Your business needs interaction for posts to matter and show up in fan’s news feed. There will be no engagement when working with fake fans. Eventually you will be posting for no one and losing all of your importance.

Most of all, you’re wasting your money when buying followers and fans. You would be better off spending your money on promoted posts or ads. Advertising is the only element you should be spending your money on.

Purchasing fans and followers will only bring your company down. It’s very obvious when companies purchase fans or followers; it is noticeable to competitors and real fans.  Just don’t do it — no matter what the circumstances are. It may seem like the best idea at first, but your brand will suffer from this decision.

Have you ever purchased fans or followers online? How did that work out for you?
